April 20-24 and April 27-May 1

This week, in my opinion, wasn't't necessary the best week ever.  This week was all about CRCT.  Monday we had  a day off, but Tuesday through Friday we had CRCT testing for this week.

This week was ok.  On Monday, we took the Social Studies CRCT test.  On Tuesday, we took STAR Math.

March 30- April 4th

Week of March 30-April 4th

Our class is getting ready to Destroy their bridges we built.  We are goingto destroy on Wednesday, April 1st at 8:30.  Our class is getting ready to be on the Swamp Shack News for the rest of the year.

March 9-13

    We are still working on our bridges.  In art we did really good and got a compliment from Mrs. Herbert. We made castles in Art and they were looking god.    Pi Day is March 14, 2009.  That is 3-14 , just like the number Pi.  On Friday, March 13, we celebrated Pi with special Pi projecs and we ate pie.  It was good.

March 9-13

We checked our garden and a few tulips are peeking through.  Spring will be here soon!

March 1-6

On Wednesday, we had the State Writing Assessment.  It lasted two hours!  Before the bell rang, the "Writing Fairy" came by and wished up luck and gave us some "spit".

    

Thursday was the first day bridge companies could begin building their bridges.

       

 

February 23-27

This week we were designing our bridges.  We also decided on how many toothpicks we need to build them (the bridges). 

Ms. Harvey came and talked to us about writing.  It was pretty much of a review of everything we've been doing in writing.   She was preparing us for the writing assessment. 

Other than that, this week was not that exciting.

February 16-20

       There was no school on Monday, but Wednesday was Science Day using electricity.  We got to use batteries to light up a bulb.  Jared #2 got shocked! Charles   and Trevor were in my group.  Just as our class was leaving, we saw a really big bird walking around outside our building.  Mrs. T got some   pictures.

January 20-23

This week has been very exciting.  We weren't at school on Monday because it was MLK Day. I wasn't here on Tuesday; so I really don't know what happened. But I do know our new president, Barack Obama was inauguation on Tuesday. We made birdfeeders with our book buddies! It was so fun. This week was great!                   Beartriz BlogMaster

December 15-19

            We are having a soiree on December 18, 2008 from 1:15-2:15.  We had a project due on the book we read for our Literacy Circle.  We were very excited to share our projects.                           
            The soiree is going to be awesome.  It was so fun.  We had many different foods to eat from.   To see more soiree pictures scroll down to Soiree.

 

    

 

 

December 8-12

            First, Mrs. Harvey came.  She helped us by giving us tips on revisions.  
            Second, we had a spelling bee this week.  Everybody did good.  We had three spelling bees.  The first and second place people got to versus the first and second people in the third, fourth, and fifth grades.  The winners in our class were Beatriz and Aditya. 

            Third, we did two science experiments.  One was we made snowflakes and in the other we had a flower which we put in colored water and the phloem took the color into the leaves.
